So Galacon was a thing that happened last weekend!
This was a big thing for me - it's the first time I have left my humble cave and met an actual physical fan of the colourful horses face-to-face, despite being a part of the cult for over three years nearly. Flying to Ludwigsburg on my own was also a huge thing in my life - having never actually planned, prepared and embarked on a holiday of sorts without any form of company - it's silly, I know. Got to meet up with a long-time friend
- even found out fellow UKoE member
was in the room just down the corridor.
I even got noticed by someone whilst walking around!
spotted me and said Hi - felt really chuffed and bewildered. I mean someone actually identifying me o.O scary. Meeting lots of the peoples on the interwebs was also great! I got so many lovely buttons and posters that I practically squee when I enter my room.
It also turned out some (if not all) of the EqD lot were in the rooms on the floors above us. I may have begun cracking up silently at Draco's face when they all got into our lift (or most, poor Cereal had to wait for another lift).
I always knew there were loads of bronies out there, but to actually be part of a swarm of them was an incredible feeling. Everywhere you turned you saw warm faces, smiles, laughter. Even the occasional song (pink fluffy unicorns is now stuck in my head)
I wasn't idle whilst there either. If you saw someone just sitting down and doodling in a little red sketchbook quietly, then you probably saw me. Here are some of the doodles I did during the downtime. There are a few more which I gave out to a friend including a quick doodle during the Tabitha/Michelle/Gabe panel.
But the most amazing part for me was the addition of another member to my lovely family.
Meet Sunset. She is MINE!
So in summary - I had a fantastic time. If you were on the fence about going, then take the plunge and come to Galacon 2016! I will definitely hedge my bets on going again.
If you do go, and you see someone sitting with little red book and a mechanical pencil - come on over and say Hi! I'd love to meet you.
Here's to another fantastic year of FUN!
